Archive for July 2011

August is going to happen very soon.

July 26, 2011

Sea Fair has come and gone.  The smell of cotton candy and dougnuts, the screams of joy and terror, the bingo callers, the sand castle event, the parade and the speeches are all over for another year.

A big thank you for the organizers.

But in the mean time, now that summer MAY be upon us,  water  is  on our minds.

Have a great safe summer everyone.

We are the coolest place in town.

The Museum in the sunny month of July

July 3, 2011

We are going to have a great sunny month I am sure.  And we will be able to glory in these wonderful sunsets.

It happened in the 1970’s.

1970 – Construction of the new Lois River bridge

1970 – Gordon Park School officially opened in July

1973 – Texada opened a new Dental Clinic

1974 – The Sliammon Drive-In Theatre opened

1975 – Beautiful BC magazine featured Powell River

1975- Construction started on the Recreation Complex

Come and visit us during the hot days ( ok, we can hope ) as we are a COOL destination.

We are open 7 days a week 9 – 4:30 and then  perhaps visit the Powell River Forestry Museum across at Willingdon Beach or visit Dr. Henderson’s house in the Townsite Tues – Friday 12 – 4pm.
