July was a busy busy month in the 1940’s
Powell River General Hospital on Arbutus Street in Townsite opened in 1942
Veterans Homes in Cranberry were built in 1945
Tip Top Dairy ( on Marine in Westview across from the View Point ) opened in 1946
Brown Brother’s Grocery in Cranberry opened in 1947
Lions Club was formed in 1947
The Elks Building ( in the Townsite on Marine Ave ) was built in 1947 and razed in 1977
